Tom Parker’s Pointless Episode Moves Viewers

useless fans felt inspired and moved by the appearance of the late Tom Parker in a special celebrity episode airing Saturday, April 2.

The Wanted singer sadly passed away this week at the age of 33, following a battle with brain cancer.

Playing in a crew with fellow band member and friend Max George, his episode was filmed in late 2021, but with the consent of Tom’s family, the BBC confirmed their appearance would be brought forward in the schedules.

Much to their delight, Tom and Max won the episode, leaving the game show with a £2,500 jackpot for their chosen charities, The Brain Tumor Charity and Brain research in the UK.

A closing title card also paid tribute to Parker at the end of the episode.

Earlier in the day, useless co-host Richard Osman shared via Twitter: “There is a very special edition of ‘Unnecessary celebrities‘ this evening. Recorded a few months ago, it features the amazing @tomparker.

“I hope this shows his strength and kindness. He and @MaxGeorge perform for @BrainTumourOrg if you would like to donate in his memory.”

After the special aired on BBC One, many of those who had listened celebrated Tom and Max’s efforts on social media.

“There is something truly magnificent about this victory for Tom & Max,” another added. added.

Max recently shared a poignant tribute to his friend and bandmate on Instagram, describing him as “my brother, my boy, my bandmate, my best friend” and reminiscing about the night Tom met his wife Kelsey for the first time.

“Thank you for choosing me as your friend. It was an honor from day one. I am so grateful to have been with you until the end. The courage and dignity I have witnessed over the past months passed the lion I already knew you were,” he said.
