Gordon State and Upright Education are partnering to offer accelerated learning programs that help working adults enter high-demand tech careers.

BARNESVILLE, Ga., June 17, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Gordon State College is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Upright Education to accelerate the career paths of working adults in Barnesville, Ga., and surrounding towns. Upright’s award-winning courses in software development and UX/UI design will provide Gordon State’s more than 3,000 students with access to a competitive placement rate of 92% and an average salary increase of 39%.
Georgia’s tech workforce growth is currently above the national average, with just under 9,000 new tech jobs expected by the end of 2022. About 6,000 of those jobs will be based in Atlanta, a close neighbor of Barnesville and home to a large segment of Gordon State’s student body. Gordon State College also maintains its commitment to pursuing community partnerships that enrich the broader socio-economic landscape of the state of Georgia. The partnership with Upright will allow Gordon State to further develop its ties to the booming technology sector in the surrounding area.
